FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

World renowned and celebrated photographer Patrick Demarchelier will be having his second one-person exhibition of new portrait photographs at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery. Demarchelier has photographed Hillary Clinton, Madonna, Katherine Hepburn, Mick Jagger, Muhammad Ali and Baryshnikov to name but a few. He was also the first non-British photographer to be invited to photograph Princess Diana and her children.

Demarchelier is the principle photographer for Harper's Bazaar, and has worked for innumerable others such as Vogue, GQ and Rolling Stone. He has done advertising campaigns for such visible clients as Chanel, Armani, Calvin Klein, Revlon and Lancome. His record album covers credits include Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Madonna and Quincy Jones among others. Demarchelier's images include everything from nudes and fashion to portraiture and landscape. American Photo has described the highly regarded photographer as "one of fashion photography's most important creators who has become one of it's most visible..."

The catalogue Patrick Demarchelier Exposing Elegance was co-published in 1997 by the Tony Shafrazi Gallery and the Museo de Art Contemporaneo de Monterrey, Mexico on the occasion of Demarchelier's exhibition at the museum. This is available for sale in the gallery along with a selection of his other publications including, Patrick Demarchelier Forms, published by Rizzoli in 1998.
