There have been three major "Andy Warhol Portraits" exhibitions. The first was in 1979 at The Whitney Museum organized by David Whitney. The second was in 1993 at the Anthony D'Offay Gallery in London. The third and largest is currently at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery.
This exhibition includes over 130 portraits of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Dennis Hopper, Aretha Franklin, Giorgio Armani, Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Mick Jagger, Sylvester Stallone,
Joseph Beuys, John Lennon, Stephen Sprouse, Martha Graham and many other major icons of the '60's, '70's and '80's.
